According to Bloomberg, Google will unveil its new Pixel 3 XL smartphones in New York City on October the 9th, 2018.
We’ve now seen the phone and the majority of its features, unfortunately, this is due to stolen units that have made their way onto the Ukrainian black market for $2,000 apiece a report by 9to5Google stated. Google has yet to comment on or acknowledge the situation, and it seems highly unlikely the company will do so before October.
A few days ago, a woman on Youtube even put up a 1080p unboxing of the phone. There is zero mystery left about this phone’s design and hardware, but we do know it’ll include wireless charging capabilities...
This whole leak could be a ploy by Google to throw you off the scent until they are ready and when it is released it could be a whole different machine altogether. But, we will have to wait until October to find out for sure.
However, according to sources, the phone will be running the latest Qualcomm chip — the Snapdragon 845. That’s paired with the Adreno 630 GPU, 4GB RAM, and likely a sub-3,000 mAh battery. CAD-based renders of the smaller Google Pixel 3 suggest it will have a 5.4-inch display with no notch in sight.
The cameras aren’t anything special, and the back lens is going to be a 12.2MP rear camera, and the two front shooters are going to be 8.1-megapixels. According to 9to5Google, there will be additional details on both devices’ camera setups. The report states that both devices’ have been rumoured to have dual, front-facing cameras which will house one wide-angle sensor, so users can take “Super Selfies.”
Nobody is sure which storage tiers the phone will launch with, but they’ll probably be the same as the XL — which have both 64GB and 128GB models. And of course, it will be running the latest Android OS, Android 9 Pie.
Personally, having the Google Pixel 2 XL myself I am eager to see if they can top the quality of the current model. So far, the rumours sound hopeful but we won’t be making any decisions until the unveiling in October.
